Sharing and Updates

15

Share any Discovery related information from other SILS groups

LG: Drafting the charge for the SILS Patron Privacy and Data Security Team (PPDS) and proposing members.

OT:

  • Discussed Ex Libris support meeting.

    • In the support meeting we talked about the accessibility spreadsheet we had submitted and they seemed unsure how to respond. Jackie, Rachael, and Gem will be following-up on how best to move forward.

    • We also asked Ex Libris to provide more detailed release notes.

    • Got some clarification about the New Discovery Experience. Sounds like it’s a whole new UI that will replace Primo VE. There’s no timeline to force customers to move.

  • Postmortem of the organization unit name change.

    • One thing to keep in mind for next time is when we noticed the Primo inconsistencies we created a Primo specific ticket and that seemed good as they had more concrete information than the Alma side of the ticket had and were able to refresh a cache that was preventing the change from showing.

    • Also discussed next NZ/IZ cross over project to have a dedicated liaison for both that could work together to do testing on each side.

All-Chairs:

  • Has started thinking about membership transitions for the new fiscal year.

  • Discussed the results of Tipasa (will not be able to implement this summer)

  • Told chairs about the SILS github in case they weren’t aware already.

  • The signature success program is on hold until renegotiation with Ex Libris has finished.

Accessibility update:

  • Planning to meet April 5 to continue our internal accessibility conversations

  • ELUNA is also planning to spin up a accessibility community of practice

  • Electronic Collection vs GES or some other method

  • NZ formatting options for public notes

  • Hiding ILL for journals?

  • “Available” concerns

  • CDI

(Much of this discussion has been superseded by communication that has gone out since.)

5

  • Round 1 voting open March 4 through March 29

  • Last year we gave all the UC consortia votes to 8970.

Discovery voted again to use all points for enhancement 8970.

Upcoming Meetings

Future Meetings:

  • Discuss the accessibility spreadsheet results

    • If Ex Libris shared more of the actual changes they made, we wouldn’t be as surprised when our customizations are impacted.

    • UCB has someone who might be able to meet with our group to look at this more.

  • Exclude eBooks from CDI Results

May 8 - Next Primo VE release meeting
