Disc is looking at pros & cons of this setting, unsure at this point if we’ll harmonize

Documentation

Testing doc from discovery

  • if you have portfolios for a collection: it's not supposed to show CDI for the ebooks

  • if you DON'T have portfolios for the collection: It is supposed to still show CDI for the ebooks

  • If you have a list of portfolios in a collection but it's spotty (missing titles) and CDI has more ebooks, CDI won't fill in the gaps. It will completely ignore the collection. They have identified some spotty collections.
If an item is listed as a dissertation and not an ebook, it's not excluded.

Overall it does reduce duplication (good). Some cases they can’t determine why dups weren’t reduced.

Discovery has not reached out to RM, Eres showed more interest at All Chairs.

Not yet looking at whether to use the individual collection settings instead of the overall setting. Will keep an eye out for any individual collections causing big dup problems.
Concerns & need ERES feedback:

  • whether it's removing things we don't expect or are unaware of

  • What other areas should they be testing, what are they missing (they want ERES feedback & ideas)? Look at the testing doc.

  • Is the CDI record quality better than CZ record quality – enough to keep CDI?

  • Try to give feedback by Mid-January.

Question/comments from eres:

  • were frbr settings (or other settings) recorded while testing? A) If you don’t have it on, it will show you everything regardless (the setting does nothing). Campuses tested in sandbox using the same settings they have in production.

  • Presentation from UT (Ask Michelle for link)

  • Please submit feedback to Gem Stone-Logan by mid January via email, Slack, or write testing information on this form (please identify your campus): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1719jOnL9AVDe-QluAmM-3x2uFC_I7Nv_talAwGF8UOo/edit#gid=284305836
