Needs Assessment

Determine next steps now that needs assessment is done.

Team

Now that we have a needs assessment:

Should an update be provided to the SILS Acq and E-Res teams?

Can we start working more in-depth on the details? Should we split off into smaller groups for specific identified needs?

Needs assessment next step considerations:

  • review which needs have dependencies

  • At what point do we decide when something won’t work in Alma?

  • When does the effort outweigh the benefit?

  • How complete does the Alma solution have to be?

  • What is our level of acceptance in Alma?

Erika and Tamara will share with SILS Acq and e-Res for feedback. Feedback provided by July 22.

3

Start success review

From the charge:

Conduct a success review to identify the “definition of done” - that is, define the criteria for the success of the project team by asking the following questions:

  1. What are some criteria for success of the overall team? How do we know when this team is no longer needed?

  2. What are some milestones during the life of the team? How will we know if we are succeeding along the way?

Team

Roll up the success review milestones as part of the needs assessment.

Overarching criteria for success: The team is successful when we determine what can and can’t be operationalized within Alma. The team has tested and documented the extent of Alma’s functionality for each need. The team will identify staff, programming, or consultant needs to support the successful implementation of CDL workflows. The team will draft workflows or create hand-off documents for relevant SILS groups and CDL staff, at which point this team may be dissolved.

Parking Lot / Overflow

Overview conversation Tamara, Lisa M, and Michelle had with Ex Libris (negotiated licenses)

Think about reporting codes some more (so campuses know what they can use locally)

(Possible question, is this in our area??) How long to wait for collection to show in CZ vs creating local record?

Schedule for:

  • Decision about vendor code

  • Decision about Licenses

  • UCSD Financial integration (should we invite a guest from UCSD? If so, who?)

For reference: Out of Office/Vacation Schedule
