Deferred - 856 42: copy 856 to 956 but full decision not made.

Not Started - What to do with Basic WorldCat Discovery. This may affect LHRs and that data management. If interested in using DataSync, will need to do in consultation with OCLC. Keep watch on this decision page.

E-Resources Decisions from AEFG: Point to ExL documentation & PPP for e-resource duplication clean-up on day-one.

Perhaps add examples of prefixes to use, as best practice. eg, (OCoLC-SCP)####

or (SCP) replacing (OCoLC).

Blog post draft review

Question from Marcia: how to notify campuses how to ensure items will not be shared to NZ - should this be added to blog post, or its own blog post?

EG: IZ: 035 $a (OCoLC)ucsd1234567 - kept from NZ.
NZ:035 $a (OCoLC)1234567 - added to NZ.
IZ: 035 $a scp(OCoLC)1234567 - this does not work to eliminate NZ matching.

019:

New to Alma campuses should remove or add prefix to keep them from being converted to (OCoLC) in 035 and added to NZ, for IZ-only records.

Already-Alma campuses should be ok to leave 019s as-is (may want to confirm with ExL).

Discussion on local records duplicating SCP records (local subscriptions/holdings).

Discussion on 936 Field which has been requested by RMFG to remove from local records, but has CONSER information that some campuses use for serials cataloging. Perhaps we just note that campuses should remove “LOCAL” data (which the 936 data isn’t).

245: UCLA has some records with 245s in Hebrew, so will link over in 880, so technically doesn’t have 245.

Perhaps add examples of prefixes to use, as best practice. eg, (OCoLC-SCP)####

or (SCP) replacing (OCoLC).

Already-Alma campuses may want to use the same prefix for SCP and Marcive, to facilitate finding and removal (eg. (OCoLC) → (SCP)

(OCoLC) → (MARCIVE)

Did not get to review - ran out of time.

Review document

Use same breakout group framework as before. Work on these before our next meeting on 4/30 so we can discuss.

  • look at outstanding tasks (TJ has done this and assigned)

  • come up with DC strategy

  • test out recommendation for cleanup. Tests should be done by a different sub-group than the one that suggested the cleanup strategy.
