Add/Delete/Save Data to Patron Record:

Fulfillment>Manage Patron Services:

-Lookup STAFF1 UCI (UCI staff account).

-Click Update User. Threw an error related to the phone number. “Field Phone Number must be numeric does not match the regex defined in phone_regex”

It looks like the system created a local copy of the stub record and a new identifier.

Removed the phone_regex from the NZ:

Pulling up a new record from UCI (GRADUATE1). No error was thrown. A message still appears saying that the phone number needs to be numeric.

A potential option would be to set phone numbers to not go across the NZ when stub records are pulled up at other campuses. This would make it so that we don’t have to harmonize or worry that copied records get dropped.

There’s a table at the IZ level for which fields get shared across the NZ when other institutions pull up a patron record.

[PASSED]

Vote to not pass phone numbers through the NZ. Individuals will have to set this up in their local configurations.

3

Consortial Block Configurations

Has anyone been successful at setting one up yet?

All

Svetlana added a consortial block to each campus instance. In the AFN there was a setting for 90 days overdue that set an item as lost.

-Elizabeth will ask Svetlana about consortial blocks and instructions to set this up if needed.

4

Parking Lot

Ex Libris may need to help us write a flexible rule for phone numbers to allow for international numbers and different formats. This could potentially be a rule that will accept any string, rather than something specific.

It sounds like multiple campuses lost existing recalls and holds when moving to Alma.

Members can add to the parking lot issues that they feel need to be considered or tracked.

5

RLF Non-Circ items requestable for in-house use

Will need to test in Test Phase

There are some hacks used for library-use only items that can’t be checked out and back in because it will kick off a return process. This will have to be figured out for ExL.

Davis tried creating a “Reading Room” circulation room. This was difficult for circulation staff to manage. There is now a transit step between ILL and the circ desks that allows the item to be checked out again before initiating the return process.

This issue does not just apply for LUO items, but specifically to the RLFs.

Mark will reach out to Lynne Grigsby regarding this question, and based on this discussion, Joe F. and Elizabeth will start a discussion in Basecamp with Ex Libris if needed.
