  • Strategically placed Reminder for Elizabeth to record Meeting

  • NRLF testing w/ Caia integration. SRLF will follow.

  • NRLF has been kept as a library. The individual locations have been set up as remote storage.

  • NRLF has tested a few scenarios that seem to have gone well.

Update to Supplier of Last Resort Decision Page

(Test and Go-Live) Strategy for Resource Sharing with WorldShare ILL

Batch process to remove borrowing requests after they are received.

Joe

Patrons will see two borrowing requests in their library account until the batch process removes the extraneous request.

This may work as a viable solution for go-live.

We will vote on the decision page next week when it’s complete.

Format of Item Owner drop down at checkout

Mallory

The drop-down menu makes it difficult to see the full location names. Shortening or changing the naming convention would make it easier for users to select a location through the AFN.

Elizabeth will start a decision page for this issue.
Mallory will work with Svetlana to determine if there are any other impacts of changing this language.

Special Meeting May 20th

This will take place during the regular office hours from 10am -12pm.

This group will have to fill out the form and submit it with the workflows that we’re interested in.

What happens if an item doesn’t have a barcode is an outstanding questions.

Adding a question related to what happens if the request isn’t pulling from the right holding record?

MVP Document Review

The MVP document will be reviewed by the ICs.

It’s worth noting that VDX requests will have to be picked up at the patron’s “home” location.

Added a line item for gathering monthly statistics.

The group went through the document adding questions and points that need to be clarified.

Members should add any comments by Wednesday, May 5.

All

Separate meeting tomorrow to just run through some tests?

Elizabeth will send out a meeting invite too any of those that can attend to get through some more tests.

Parking Lot

There are some concerns that there is no clear place to note physical condition of items in the AFN. It may be possible when scanning in items.

Another option may be using fulfillment notes.

For the time being best practices might be shared via e-mail, sent to the FG and ILL Ops. Testing documentation could be hosted on Google or Box and shared out with a public link.

Members can add to the parking lot issues that they feel need to be considered or tracked.

RLF Non-Circ items requestable for in-house use

Will need to test in Test Phase

There are some hacks used for library-use only items that can’t be checked out and back in because it will kick off a return process. This will have to be figured out for ExL.

Davis tried creating a “Reading Room” circulation room. This was difficult for circulation staff to manage. There is now a transit step between ILL and the circ desks that allows the item to be checked out again before initiating the return process.

This issue does not just apply for LUO items, but specifically to the RLFs.

Mark will reach out to Lynne Grigsby regarding this question, and based on this discussion, Joe F. and Elizabeth will start a discussion in Basecamp with Ex Libris if needed.
