follow up on AFN issues from last week

  • ‘resource sharing library’ / pickup location in resource sharing form-> everyone was able to make this change?

What is state of AFN requests? better?

  • assessment period for ‘locate profiles’ change

All

All at meeting were able to make the change in the form to fix the RS library issue.

Do we want to change the assessment date to exclude the period affected by the RS library issue above? (2/16 - 3/2)

General dicsusion: Seeing very few digitization requests at LA, SB. Physical item request numbers seem low too. UCI - at least 50% of requests going out to WSILL rather than UCs.

Wait to discuss impacts until after 3/2.

@Alison Ray (CDL) will write up a charge for the locate problem task force (that’s not an official name) Mar 2, 2022

Phase 4 handoff recieved

quick overview of handoff spreadsheet

‘homework’: read & discuss locally. plan to bring 3 (or fewer) projects we should be working on right now for next week

eventually all projects will go on (won’t be working off spreadsheet itself)

Alison/All

9 “projects” handed to us, 5 high priority ones due in Jan./Feb (highlighted in yellow)

Spreadsheet will remain static. Updates will go in Work Plan.

Tipasa migration item - perhaps low hanging fruit since we started discussing this last week and there is a very lukewarm feeling about moving. Alison: still a high priority item even if the “due date” needs to change so we can’t knock it off the list by saying we are kicking the can down the road.

There’s a “filter view” to sort by priority if you would like to do that.

If a project should be reassigned to another group we can discuss.

Statistics/UCOP reporting - schedules are being looked at and possibly revised. Waiting to find out more information about when we will find out what’s changed.

all - for next week’s meeting bring your top 3 projects from the list to discuss: favorite phase 4 hand off projects

Capture important topics for future discussion

  1. Analytic reports mentioned by Linda Michelle as wanting to be discussed in the future:

Capturing monthly AFN ILL UC Stats for Borrowing and Lending.

Capturing list of requested AFN Borrowing journal titles for annual CCC reports.

2. (May have to be discussed jointly with fulfillment subgroup):

Courtesy (upcoming) overdue please renew and recently overdue notices sent to AFN Borrowers by the Lending institution. We have had several for AFN requests which comes from lenders. Problem is the courtesy reminders from other institutions (Lending institution) instructs the Network Borrower to go to the Lenders home institution portal to log in to request their renewal, for example, which the Network user cannot do. We also got an out of the box overdue notice from a Lender that was one day overdue and sounded over-threatening about charges coming up soon for lost/late materials. This upset our patron. We need to discuss maybe using more generic language on these notices or seek other solutions for including local Borrowing information. (LMW)

3. Adding UCs into the automatic rota in WSILL - what do we think of this? Is it helpful in filling requests that fall out of the AFN?
