Chair

Our Q&A meeting with ExLibris is scheduled for June 4th during our normal meeting time.

  • ExLibris would like us to post all questions we’d like to ask to our Basecamp meeting page at least 3 days ahead of the meeting.

This meeting will be just our FG and Ex Libris.

There is a Google Doc that the group can use to populate with questions.

Elizabeth will link to the Google Doc for questions from this Agenda.

First decisions from the ICs

Take a look at the updated decisions pages. Any changes or additions?

Can we do a final vote, and hand them back to ICs and Patron Data?

How long will the expired patron records without outstanding fines have been expired, for us to be willing to have them purged during the automated process? 2 years?

All

Expired Patron Deletion: This does not apply to those patrons with anything outstanding on their account.

This only applies to the migration, not purging practices moving forward.

Most campuses are okay moving forward with purging patron records that have been expired for more than six months.

Campuses can make local decisions on whether to purge expired patrons with small bills or not.

The group approved moving forward with separate patron databases.

The group approved purging expired patrons with no outstanding circumstances older than six months.

Elizabeth will update some of the wording and push forward the decision pages.

Review and vote on whether to move to a fulfillment network or not.

Ahead of this meeting, review the training modules under the Fulfillment Networks Resource Sharing, Broker-Based Resource Sharing, and Peer-to-Peer Resource Sharing groups on this page:

https://exlibris.libguides.com/alma/fulfillment

Here’s some things to think about for our discussion:

  • Any pros or cons you identified off the bat?

  • What instances would we find peer to peer or broker based setup more useful?

  • What level of harmonization would be needed for each?

  • Does CSUs and possibly some California Community Colleges being on Alma make us lean in a certain direction?

All

Moved from last week.

It may be possible to keep things functionally the same but changes will have to be made regarding VDX integration with Alma.

We may need guidance from Ex Libris on the impact of different configurations.

The group is in support of a Fulfillment Network, there are some concerns about whether or not users should be able to order from specific libraries.

It sounds like the Fulfillment Network can be set up at the Item or Title level.

Some items can be displayed without allowing them to be requested directly by the patron.

Move forward with a Fulfillment Network.
