@Caitlin Nelson request access for PPCs to Basecamp.

Team Charter

Work in filling in the Team Charter

10

Chair

Finalize the team charter - pay attention to those things in blue for discussion

Deadline: before this site is opened in May

  • When to start meeting? Come to mutual agreement.

Communications:

  • email to PPC listserv when you need a question answered.

  • What if we created a listserv with all the SILS Chairs? (IC and PPC)

    • There’s also the #sils-chairs channel

  • RACI context: callout about being informed, ask to get on an informed list.

  • Like that there’s “information seeking” vs. task-oriented. The task one needs more formality.

    • 1) Get a second opinion about whether your task is worth doing

    • 2) You could possibly combine tasks with another group

  • PPC agenda item: is there any communication needs? Task needs?

    • What is the impact once I go outside my group?

Team norms: by the next week, can we clean up these and get ready to finalize them by next week.

@team to finalize their thoughts on Team Charter by next week’s meeting.

3

Network Zone

Understand more how to tackle investigating and decision-making around Network Zone

Update on Ex Libris expectations, and upcoming discussions

  • Does ExL have some kind of checklist for config with all the possible options?

  • FG chairs should be invited to ExL SILS meetings

Contacting peer institutions: what are best practices for Network Zone?

Preread:

Would principles help us make decisions about NZ?

  • Don’t lose data

  • Make “good enough” decisions

  • Confirm “irreversible” or “difficult to reverse” decisions ASAP and prioritize

What involvement do PPC want in the various ExL meetings?

Prepping and Training should involved the whole FG as well - maybe there’s a subgroup of the FG who needs to be involved.

What is the learning objective? What is the Network Zone might be one objective, then you can get deeper. Knowing what is the purpose of the training will then determine which people should come.

→ Understand what NZ does, then decide what we want it to do for us!

At least for now, before we have a formal training plan, whatever the ICs are getting the PPC should get too.

@Caitlin Nelson get the sandbox details for PPC by email. Apr 27, 2020
@Caitlin Nelson coordinate with Neil on training plan. Apr 28, 2020
@Caitlin Nelson work with Maria to talk about involving PPC. Apr 27, 2020

Review material prep

Decide whether or not the urgency assigned to each issue is appropriate

Decide whether or not additional information needed for each issue

Decide whether an issue needed be broken into several

Decide which group should get what issues

15

PPC should review the Critical Issues (Phase 3) before their FG meetings. (DONE - all assigned)

“What is your vision for your Functional Area?”

Not immediately jumping to HOW - before we go there, we need to figure out what, why, and why now?

Next meeting: talk more about how to prioritize these issues!
