AEFG: Collaborative work w/ RMFG on import profiles: templates created, subgroup starting to test with record files. E-Res subgroup proceeding to develop model for CDL resources and attached campus POLs. Emerging testing on POL type that may affect preparation of migration data - trying to finalize that as soon as possible. Quick decision page re: pre/post-migration e-resources data clean-up to be developed in response to query from ILSDC for week of 4/12. Addition to RMFG's 856 decision page re: 856 42 inserted. Awaiting more re: Invoicing/Tax related session.

RMFG:

  • finalized a recommendation for a final MARCIVE load date at UCSD

  • finalized feedback for the PPC RLF discussion (next week)

  • Gobi subgroup met with AEFG to work out some test plans and then also with CDL to set up test import profiles

  • 2 more migration decisions left and then its workflows until go-live

  • RLF update: There may not be problems with migrating record types and patrons getting materials after all.

DCFG: We’ll be discussing the SGTF documents on Monday and will likely have comments. We’re still exploring harvesting finding aid records from OAC, but have hit a snag and have a meeting scheduled with ExL. After that, we’ll turn our attention back to harvesting more traditional digital collections out of Calisphere as well as some local repositories.

Discovery: Working on finalizing UC-eLinks replacement name and icon; Continuing to discuss CDI and EasyActive implications; Revising PrimoVE user interface decision page; Testing WorldCat, Boosting, FRBR options.

PSELG: the group met and discussed the transition to DOC for the group’s recommendation to form a subgroup to tackle the question of OA and CDI.

Decisions

Discuss and approve proposed decisions

  1. (Go-live) Local 856 bibliographic data (Decision was held from last week to give AEFG a chance to review and add to it. Edit from AEFG is added.)

    1. AEFG concurs with the recommendations for P2E and advises discretion with the 856 42 for finding aids and other applications. Recommends a cross-functional discussion post go-live.

    2. Start documenting now and create a list for follow-up later or tag pages that have a transitional need and pull that together in the fall after go-live. New tag will be “post-live” for decisions that will be addressed by groups in the new gov structure.

  2. Can we review this PPC page: (Go-live) Preparation of Campus SCP Data

    1. See notes from 4/2 PPC meeting

  3. (Go-live) MARCIVE Bibliographic Records in the NZ and campus data preparation

    1. UCSD will stop loading MARCIVE files into Millennium in April 2021. The file created by SCP will not contain May or June 2021 file loads.

    2. Non-composite e-resource MARCIVE records should not be migrated into the NZ by campuses; composite records can be added to the NZ.

  1. Approved; this will need to be shared with ILSDC & ICS

  2. Approved; will be shared with ILSDC & ICs

  3. Approved

Announce all approved decisions on all-cohort slack on 4/12

CDI

Update from ExL on whether UCs have a choice and what the timeline is for that decision:

  • There may be a possibility to switch but it is still in discussion at EXL as it has not been done before (moving from Easy Active to Fully Flexible).

  • What we do know for sure is that it is highly discouraged since untested (and this is coming from both Product Management and Development).

  • We (including Product Management) would like to continue to discuss and address any concerns you might have with EasyActive while we explore the possibility of switching CDI types and timing.

Review of response from CSU about CDI

Results of DFG discussion on data gathered during testing

Next steps

  1. ExL would like to know exactly what our concerns are with EasyActive; what is the background on this? Why do UCs not want to be on EA?

  2. Once we have this information, PMs will open a SF case documenting all concerns and questions for ExL.

  3. Other?

All

  1. (Go Live) CDI Models: FullyFlexible or EasyActive

    1. From chat: We had one comment in RMFG that for smaller campuses it's actually more work to turn stuff off and they are getting tons of results for things they can't access

    2. from chat: I did hear about the workload issue w/ Fully Flexible - from Holly's talking w/ Jessica at CSU/consortial. (the flip side of Liz's comment).

    3. From chat: It’s work either way

    4. Beth to take this to PSELG for more discussion as well; this piggy-backs on their OA discussion and staffing resources.

    5. Should we invite ExL to a PPC meeting? Group will think about this.

    6. Holly E. from CDL spoke with CSU and may have some good information. One takeaway is to stay away from CDI in the NZ.

    7. Watching how this topic is taking shape for any ELUNA sessions too.... (that is in May). Does our path/timing converge w/ that event?

    8. We're also still learning more about what you can and can't actually fully remove from Primo with EasyActive

This will be a recurring item on PPC

Christine

PMs received feedback that the P2E section covered by ExL at the data cleanup session was too generic. PMs asked Marci if it was possible to use UC data to make the examples more relevant and useful. Her answer is that ExL can use our data for more specific examples IF campuses allow it. Often there are privacy issues (e.g. finances or personal data) that prevent campuses from wanting to show their data. Next possible opportunity to use UC data would be at the Primo VE workshop in May.
