Discussion of further Alma Analytics exploration:

    • It is possible for an IZ to access NZ reports; without filters applied, it will automatically filter to the campus. If additional filters/other IZ data is included, the report won’t resolve.

    • There are lots of potential options to explore for access/sharing data within the visualization component (acknowledging some limitations on what can be shared broadly).

    Updates:

    5m - @Danielle Westbrook

    • CoUL endorsed the recommendations and report! CoUL members also noted that the report is excellent and the project team achieved the charge for UCL/UCOP annual stats. Congrats, all!

    • CoUL Steering Committee has committed to take on the RLF-related item, to organize a systemwide conversation with the applicable individuals (likely starting with CoUL); agreement that we should use status quo RLF approach for this year, and have a conversation around alternatives in the near term.

    Webinar

    • Informational webinar proposed for early August, to support developing a shared understanding of the changes underway.

    • CoUL endorsed the proposed webinar, and agreed it would be good to have SILS-LG, DOC and/or CoUL representatives in attendance.

    • We can use existing slide decks as baseline for webinar content (overview of charge and recommendation). What else should be included?

      • We can use the webinar as an opportunity to showcase how participatory this work has been (multiple speakers).

    • Volunteers for speaking at the webinar and helping prep (acknowledging all have some vacation time booked between then and now): Alison, Chan (more volunteers are always welcome)

    • Let’s schedule our webinar for Monday, August 07 from 1-1:50 pm.

    • We’ll use Users Council to distribute the official webinar notice; then each AASA-PT member can do local follow up.

All should recommend content for the slide deck.
Danielle will seek CoUL, DOC and SILS-LG reps to attend
Danielle will follow-up with Michelle and Heather, to confirm Aug. 07
Danielle will draft an initial webinar invitation (to circulate on Slack/email for AASA-PT review before distributing)

Logistics - how non-NZ data schedules will be circulated / supported (for the data each campus will submit)?

    • For the stats not impacted by NZ reporting, we can keep those schedules the same for now.

    • Clearly outline what is covered by NZ report, what remains campus-contributed data. Could have greyed out Schedule A, Schedule D, Schedule E.II - and point folks to NZ data.

    • Intercampus lending template (shared template, can be run at the NZ); AFN digital requests can’t be handle correctly due to anonymization. Need to determine where this issue sits.

    • How should we handle UCB Law Library? They are the one affiliate library

    • We’ll prioritize clarity and ease of use. It should be clear what is no longer being asked of campuses (what is now NZ reporting), and which schedules still need to be submitted.

Wrap up - Review actions and decisions

    5m @Danielle Westbrook

    6

Parking Lot - Capture important topics for future discussion

    • We should chat more/figure out the visualization component available through Alma (as an easier to use product - Alma Analytics has a higher on-ramp), to determine what’s possible/helpful.

The SILS mission is to transform library services and operations through innovation and collaboration. The future is shared!
