Harmonization proposal feedback form

Review of the Feedback form; initial questions and discussion

20m

Harmonization sub team

What kind of feedback is most helpful? Seeking initial impressions, or should campuses do some of their own testing?

  • Through this form, we are collecting project team feedback around potential changes to the data requirements. As a reminder, through this work we’re seeking to reduce our workload (simplify reporting so we can focus on analysis), limit backend normalization/clean-up, at least in the near-term (no rush). Also, we’re seeking to centralized reporting (via Network Zone analytics) as much as possible.

Discussion

  • Several project team members want to consult with local team members.

  • If manuscripts and special collections are reported as catalogued, will that be ok from an insurance perspective? Would need to confirm with Risk Management; clear labelling (so it is clear that the reported figures are not per volume/item) would also be important.

  • Withdrawn materials, suppressed titles - this will likely require filters/special applications. This can be set at the campus level.

All – Please complete the form by Mar. 20, 21, or 23 (as soon as you’re able), to the best of your ability.

Refinement process discussion

Let’s begin testing and figuring out how to implement agreed upon changes in the Network Zone! The harmonization subteam welcomes new members.

10m

Harmonization sub team

  • Once campuses have begun to complete the harmonization feedback form, the subteam will begin testing out Network Zone functionality for centralized reporting based on the proposed changes. Strawperson proposals will be generated for project team and campus review.

  • Alison volunteered to join the subteam (yay - thank you, Alison!).

Project team members can notify Ellen and/or Danielle if they’d like to join the subteam investigating how to implement changes and pursue Network Zone reporting.
