Current Practice Survey: campus final updates

    15m

    • Berkeley. No issues. Worked well. Sharing reports went ok.

    • Davis. Ended up having to speak to more people than I thought I would but everyone was helpful and I got the answers we needed. A more coordinated effort on our end would be super helpful.  I am happy to speak with the survey team if they have any questions.

The only one that was a bit hard to answer was about shared print and RLF holdings - for both we report some of them but don't report all of them (we have only been using what is in our local catalog).

    • Irvine. Will save law queries too, but not do a separate survey.

    • UCLA. Spent a lot of time chasing the response for schedule C, D and E

    • UCM. Spent lot of time chasing folks to respond to the survey

    • SC.

      • For RLF question, only count them in Schedule D but not Schedule A

      • Not counting government documents at all. It is hard to distinguish what the government doc is

    • R. Still track down ILL data

    Harmonization Analysis: Subteam Update

    10m

    Harmonization sub team

    • Working on determining what data points are required for ARL/ACRL/CEAL, and how difficult/easy to report on a scale of 1-5.

    • Will determine which data points would be beneficial for central reporting, but not required by UCOP

    • Whether there are any other associations that request data reporting. Will compile a list

      • John indicated that in the past, they have reported to Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries (AAHSL)

      • UCSF no longer reports to AAHSL

      • @Ellen Augustiniak : American Bar Association, US News & World Reports, American Association of Law Libraries are orgs that have asked for a variety of stats over the years.

    • Questions from Daisy

      • Do each of the library have a collection development policy that Daisy can take look at?

        • Michelle indicated that the documents they have are outdated

        • Lisa indicated that she is not aware of of the policy

        • Ellen: the policy is more about the topic and format

        • Cataloging policy might be more helpful. Campus might have lot of backlogs.

It’d be helpful if CDL colleagues could learn more about local campus practices so that counts from reports developed by this Team are as accurate as possible. Local documentation might help provide context for how data is organized, for Daisy’s use. Helpfulness of different types of documentation, including general policies or procedures:

    • Collection Development : probably not

    • Cataloging: maybe

    • Acquisitions: maybe
