• Big projects are coming to campuses

Anything issues from Slack, Email, Basecamp that need discussion, action?

• Homework from last week: Understand data cleanup timeline for each campus cleaning up their own data. Ask ILSDC group to take this issue and better understand it. Focus on the 4 fields that don’t get wiped.

• RSPG meeting with Ex Libris to provide an overview of the RLFs at UC (Cathy, Liz R.)

• 3-weeks for testing might be a good amount. Campuses are busy with implementing library activities such as page and hold and digitizing materials.

• Sep 24 checkin with ICs - draft deadline

• We are concerned about the timeline for systemwide decision-making on standardizing: ILSDC

• Systemwide standardization decisions & cleanup (PPC, FGs, ILSDC) need to have their test plans and decision-making timeline. What’s working on day 1 go-live governs what decisions to focus on. Look at the RFP for essential requirements to decide what’s critical. This gives us the MVP.

  • Give the RFP #1s to the vanguard and have them test against them. Seeing which ones are fine vs which ones are wonky will be very instructive as to where to focus energy.

Testing and access to the vanguard

What do we want to present/discuss at SILS Chairs meeting on Wednesday Aug 12? Who can present? Invite any guest speakers?

Coordinating testing between FGs, Local groups, understanding who does what when, and working on Alma roles. 

1. Do we want standard roles across the UC? Why? Why now?

   1. Maybe the FGs need to make sure that each tester has the same permissions to rule out permissions problems

2. Data privacy group - Check in with Peter and Todd (Lena)

1. ICs will be spearheading local testing and distributing local accounts in the VG instances.

   1. Each IC/local VG campus is in charge of their own test plan(s) and accounts

2. FG Chairs will be spearheading systemwide testing, and will be requesting VG instance accounts for non-VG FG members as needed on this form https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TdOXbR7E13UUZPWsx2NYkfP-jCkNq3TDgsmxZQYOKQo/edit#gid=0

   1. FG members who are from VG campuses will have accounts at their home campus in addition to any necessary non-VG accounts.

3. Non-VG local campus staff who wish to view VG data can request an account after September 2020.

4. All accounts will be given “admin” level privileges in the appropriate modules, unless instructed otherwise.

Test Plans:

1. ILSDC / Data Validation checklist is the foundation (being published at the end of August)

2. Local campus test plans focus on local needs

3. FGs are creating their own test plans based on systemwide decisions.

Timeline

• Instances are available on Sept 4th

  • Accounts start being made

  • Extra config starts being done

• “Data Review” special meeting on the 10th (Th)

  • Maybe have accounts for people ASAP so they can get a taste of the environment before this meeting?

  • Testing should begin in earnest after this date at the latest
