Weekly project status update from Ex Libris PM, Marci Degnan

Awareness of project status and upcoming work

ExL, Marci

Reminder, Kickoff coming on Nov 5.

Q: Can discovery save any configurations? A: They can move all the information in the configuration form, Primo VE tab, and the customization package. Ping recommending keeping notes of everything changed and screenshots.

Q: Is third party integration (eg. Aeon) available for testing in Vanguard? If so, is that something to be added by UC or by ExL? Thanks! A: from Marci - we are not doing any advanced integrations testing. Ping said it’s documented in the developer network. Ping will learn more about it for the test load. Ping believes it’s an API. Jeremy uses a general electronic service. Marci suggested documenting this for everyone in the full implementation phase.

Q: What’s the diff between the union view and the network view? For union view, you get options to authenticate to your institutions and see link resolver links. Ping posted an explanation on basecamp. You don’t need both. Ex Libris does not typically provide the union view unless it’s requested. Ping asked why do you need this view? Jess said they are evaluating this right now.

Q: When this is used, UC union view, how are others doing it? CARLI & PASCAL asked for it but did not release it to end-user. End-users use IZ view. For PASCAL (Diane Schaefer implemented it at PASCAL), they used the union view to check activations in the NZ, available group settings to ensure the link resolver links display properly.
