DISCOVERY VISION: We strive to design and implement the best possible discovery and delivery experience for our end users using data-driven decision making. We envision a network zone experience that will allow users to discover library materials across UC collections without sacrificing relevant results. As such, the default search and results interface should prioritize the success of typical users while providing additional functionality for more advanced users.

1	Updates from other SILS groups & project timeline	Share relevant items	15 min	Josephine Sarah	Timeline: VG phase ends 11/02/20 Implementation Kickoff 11/05/20 PPC: Confirmation from Xiaoli Li (co-chair) that we do not have to consolidate all of our campus testing notes on the Testing Worksheet for PPC.. They can be turned in for review as is currently laid out. PPC met with Implementation Coordinators (IC), SILS Co-Chairs, Project Managers, and Communications Operations Leads on 10/25/20 to discuss ways to improve communications with ExL and between PPC and IC. Internal Training Subgroup: Alma Essentials training begins soon targeted for those at non-VG campuses. DIscovery members for SILS End-User Name subgroup: Jess, Ellen, and Elizabeth Sarah reminded people to fill out the survey re: governance structure. Even though VG period is ending, the VG instances will be up until December. And reminder that any work done in the VG will be scraped, and changes will be done into the implementation instance.

AEON and other 3rd party services are called “general electronic services” that can be more integrated within the system. AEON shows up in the item level attribute, which is useful for those paging the materials. (Open URL that passes info to AEON ) There’s interest for bulk requests from the catalog (example: if requesting multiple boxes)
