DISCOVERY VISION: We strive to design and implement the best possible discovery and delivery experience for our end users using data-driven decision making. We envision a network zone experience that will allow users to discover library materials across UC collections without sacrificing relevant results. As such, the default search and results interface should prioritize the success of typical users while providing additional functionality for more advanced users.

From SILS All Chair Mtg (7/1):

  • Gunter Waibel discussed updates to the SILS Phase 4 Principles, specifically #6 through #9, to reflect that this work is being done during a pandemic. The emphasis is that we are all working towards generating a transformative impact journey. We will be disciplined in our work, knowing that July 27, 2021, is the beginning and not the end of this journey. We will continue to improve and iterate, remembering to be guided by the patron experience. The updates are being finalized and will be shared to the SILS cohort.

  • Alma Training led by ExL for Vanguard has begun. First mtg will be Monday, July 13 @ 1pm. Let Josephine know if you’re interested in attending.
