Local 9xx field and what needs to be done with data to prepare for that: cat & acq staff are discussing

• Some fields are adjusted at vendor, OCLC level, or in Alma import profiles & norm rules

• Ex: 938 field is used by OCLC, so Davis will adjust it to 988 via norm rules

Issues with migrating electronic orders as electronic: some e-orders will migrate as print due to P2E process. There would need to be cleanup done after migration.

• What to do with migrating SCP records with a local order, or records that have no 856? These should migrate in P2E even without and 856

Everything full text in Alma is active in CDI and visible in regular search, extended search will show what’s been activated but does not have full text. Note this can be customized locally.

Evaluating CDI metadata: how to do this without activating a collection first? Records can’t be viewed unless activated. There are also issues with troubleshooting as CDI records may come from different sources.

CDI in a nutshell: gives us metadata such as title-level and article level data not available elsewhere; provides article-level links.

For next meeting: have a show & tell session on CDI & its settings in Alma, managing activations

Planning post-Vanguard activities: workflows to develop; configuration recommendations, etc. Items that may not need harmonization for test load but further out.
