PPC meeting August 6 Notes

PPC-CDL-NZ 8/6 - met to discuss communication regarding e-inventory updates (based on clean-up list identified during migration). Will work to coordinate time to update during future Monday Ex Libris project update time.

8/5 TSELG discussion about Analytics - Carla and Lisa S. joined part of their call.

8/11 SILS Chairs: Off-boarding process (reminder Phase 4 ends 12/23), holding a postmortem/mid-mortem meeting, identifying work to hand off

Documents for the offboarding are still being finalized.

Others?

Everyone: review

Electronic Resources Subgroup - Brief Update

Update on progress from AEFG-oversight point of view.

15

Carla / all

JSTOR issues: ebooks showing in search results but no link available.

  • Lisa S. followed up w/ CDL re: deactivating vs. just adjusting service availability on 8/9

  • Update from Lisa M. - JSTOR records are being deleted, but they have to be done in small batches. Bandwidth is the biggest limiting factor right now.

Outbound Linking Workshops - 8/10 2nd session.

  • Spreadsheet of updates to be maintained on weekly basis. Lisa S. distributed “explainer” recording, with slides, link to summary spreadsheet, 006 decision page via IC list.

Other e-resources related?

  • Considering a session on e-inventory

  • Campuses can start configuring PubMed Outside Tool and Google Scholar publishing profiles, since that has to be done on a local level.

Planning for rest of August, post-go-live

For 8/11: continuing review of MVP page, assessing priorities for additional testing, decision pages.

30

Carla/ Lisa M. / all

  • See “Old” MVP document for items.

  • Timeline

  • What do we want to prioritize next? (being mindful of CDL workload)

    • MVP 012 Proxy use : Lisa S. sent out poll to campuses on 8/9. Gathering input on spreadsheet.

    • MVP 007, 009 Systemwide reports and usage statistics. MVP009 may need to be addressed by the e-resources subgroup.

    • MVP 005 - May need to revisit.

For 8/11: Lisa M. providing input from CDL vantage point.

Lisa S. able to show UCD use of licensing area in Alma.

Parking lot item from PPC re: Selector impact of Alma (budgets, POLs, etc.) - does AEFG have room to address? Some of this is in collection management area (recall Phase 3) - what is possible/helpful here?

No plans from CDL to terminate the ERMS portal.

See Parking Lot

Everyone: what other issues do we want to look at for the remainder of SILS Phase 4?

Lisa S. to mark MVP 012 as Done
Lisa S. to share out document on license configuration for MVP 005 to get us started.
6

Current Local Issues

Picking up queries from Slack channel, other areas to assist one another.

20

All

Reviewing topics that came up on Slack channel.

8/4 was: POLs, Invoices/Budget, Interested USers, Wiley ebooks.

Inquiry from Catherine Busselen re: open house/workshop type time. If E-Res is covered enough by subgroup, would this assist with more Acq-focused including topics above? (8/9 Lisa S. still has pending action item to poll based on 8/4 input.)

8/11: Searching for activation by PO (not POL), EDI invoices, loading invoices by spreadsheet.

Cancelling vs. closing an order : Cancelling an order will delete unreceived print inventory and remove all predicted items. For electronic, it will ask to delete the portfolio, even if activated.

Open house/office hours time would be good, one for acq and one for e-res

@Lisa Spagnolo will do a poll to find a time

To save for future discussion

85/85

Licensing discussion: Need to build out timeline, investigate what data can be exported, what we need to have in place.

Training placeholder: outbound linking (needs confirmation of SFX availability); EDI invoicing.

Analytics: look into doing an internal training session once MVP decision pages are done - NOTE SILS-Wide Analytics sessions in September

Completed Decision Pages: review these now that we are live and edit if necessary

All: provide feedback on completed decision pages as needed/as we are putting them into practice post go-live

The SILS mission is to transform library services and operations through innovation and collaboration. The future is shared!
