PPC finalized configuration form recommendations

Essentials training debrief

  • Confident in abilities to replicate scenarios presented in training exercises, but less confident about real world application and impact of workflows in a larger system context

“Local group takeaways” section added to meeting agenda/notes

2

Local authority subgroup

Decide whether a temporary subgroup is necessary and if so who will join

15 mins

Is it time for a subgroup to look at these and report back or do we know enough now to make a recommendation?

  • Additional question raised about of whether we should have a local authorities subgroup or an overall authority control subgroup

  • What should be in the NZ vs IZs?

  • UCLA and UCSD will take the lead for testing for the Vanguard

Yes

UCSD and UCLA will take the lead but anyone can join if interested

Liz will put together a meeting

3

OCLC updates

Decide whether a temporary subgroup is necessary and if so who will join

15 mins

Is it time for a subgroup to look at this and report back?

  • Yes - subgroup will collect information to see what would be involved in implementing WorldShare updates in the NZ and send that info to the TSELG

Is there interest in re-examining pre-populating the NZ with an OCLC master file? No need to decide today, just general curiosity. (this can be deferred until after the review of the Updates Page)

Yes

Assemble roster by next RM meeting

Testing

Review existing testing documentation and determine how to handle our Vanguard decision pages

40 mins

All

Over the next 2 weeks we need to prioritize and assess our Vanguard decision pages and identify areas that impact data cleanup and data migration

  • Test plan due to PPC by 8/28

ILSDC has a spreadsheet that we can use to record our own testing that affects/reflects data migration and cleanup

  • The spreadsheet is only a baseline and not all scenarios will apply to everyone

  • It is only concerned with migrated data

Other testing around harmonization, impacts on discovery, workflows, etc (all the “so what?”). should be recorded elsewhere. How do we want to do that?

  • Discussion around how to process and display the information generated from testing and revisiting decision pages

  • Agreed (by fist of five vote) to create a Google doc for each decision page

  • Need to look at draft test template to see if anything is missing by comparing it against decision pages

How should we divide up work? (deferred)

Draft test template

FG will comment/review template and continue working on a test plan next week

Everyone should review the draft test template and propose necessary changes or additions by the next RM meeting

Future agenda items

mapping for 700/7XX fields

using 005 fields during migration?

OCLC update service during Vanguard?
