Bib record management in the NZ

Finalize a draft to bring to PPC on 1/8

20 mins

All

The group continued to work through and add to the following document:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LZdfFkEUVR6DdbsaXqtNm7sH1Iq_Qjs2d53XRZpSNe0/edit

…. a few items of note:

  1. Remember, this is only a first pass at this document so don’t worry.

  2. A small-ish thing: There is no longer an easy way to keep cataloger statistics by adding the person’s name/initials/etc. to item records (which is how UCSD has been doing stats). Campuses that’re already Alma campuses have been just keeping their stats manually. (UCSD also handles PCC stats differently because they’re a merge library.)

  3. Liz will be presenting the document to the Program & Policy Coordinators (PPC) this Friday, Jan. 8.

Look at your comments and resolve them if you feel like they were addressed in the doc.

3

Configuration form

Review Vanguard decisions, identify questions to ask at Thursday Ex Libris office hours

30 mins

Vanguard page:

The office hours on 1/7 will be dedicated to the configuration form, are there parts of the form that we have questions about standardizing?

If things come up at your campus that could use a systemwide decision, please add to the list.

4

OCLC updates

20 mins

Q. Is there a desire to continue testing the OCLC update workflow during test load?

A. Yes. And SCP wants to be included too.

We’ll still put a 908 note in our further tests, so that will help us find them.
