Gathering workflows from campuses:

  • Let campus members know that IT can be a resource if someone is struggling with setting up workflows. Gathering specific workflows will be easier than general gathering.

  • If someone is taking a training and it’s obvious the ex libris version of a workflow won’t work for a campus (i.e. bindery, searches) that would be a good ask

  • Current campuses, if you have access to workflows you remember needing to create during your first implementation, try to share if possible

Santa Cruz:

  • 60 library staff, aobut 12 working on the cohort

  • First time go live:

    • operated on a compressed timeline: Golive-40 days

    • Offered lightweight 1 hr trainings on primo ve and fulfillment. Less a step by step training and mostly a way for people to see workflows done live with our configurations

    • Held open office hours twice a week after go live with the implementation team. Had lots of drop in questions, was a good space to figure out workflows.

    • created an ongoing management team who deals with new releases and additional configuration/3rd party integrations/problems

  • this implementation

    • management team is making lots of the decisions locally, such as when to share links to alma and primo spaces

    • also a local sils team that is mostly updates from everyone working on the project

    • not much concern from campus staff about training, people feel fairly comfortable

    • planning brown bag sessions where team members can demo the things people expect to be different in the new system, such as searching in the network zone.

CDL:

  • 75 staff, 27 will likely work in live environment in some fashion. 23 have done alma essentials and have been heavily involved thus far

  • planning monthly open house sessions

  • Most training questions so far are config related

  • Have a local sils group. about 10-12 people. meet every other week. Additional group specific to E-resources
