pick up anywhere feature - messaging/communication

For cases where ‘pick up anywhere’ requests must be picked up at home campus, what messaging or communication can be done to ease confusion for patrons & assist circulation and other library staff in communicating this situation to patrons?

@Mallory DeBartolo (Unlicensed)

Changes to workflow will be discussed once we have data

Discussed message that could be added to the resource sharing form. UCD has a note on the Digitization request. We looked at the form and Jason was able to show how this would work in the UCD sandbox.

Note: UCD decided to present it’s users with the resource sharing request everywhere, not just for items that are not available

possibilities: message on form (see “Configuring Request Forms”); canned messages for patrons within this situation; info for home ill pages

UCD form text proposal: “Delivery to Campuses other than your home campus may not be possible for every transaction.”

Recommendation to create document in google drive for sharing messages

Adding the message to the form is a recommendation and not harmonized decision

Update on Resource Sharing Testing Sandbox Accounts for SILS Ops Center

Share/show RS SB Testing accounts ; any questions/feedback?

10

@Alison Ray (CDL)

Each campus should discuss how many role accounts in sandbox can be assigned to SILS Ops Center and what access level

This will help CDL with testing the resource sharing system on a system-wide basis

For those who already know what access level and how many accounts, you may create the accounts but deadline is in July

‘pu anywhere, just kidding’: review shared messages, what would be next steps

metrics on how often ‘pu anywhere’ requests have to be changed to home campus (Jason) → may lead to: editing pu loc for this requests → may lead to: harmonizing bookbands

Adding UCs into the automatic rota in WSILL - what do we think of this? Is it helpful in filling requests that fall out of the AFN? (Mallory)
