Liz:

• UC Palace Project records in sandbox

• All-chairs reviewed our governance document and escalation paths

• Still trying to work with Casalini on what everyone’s expectations are for records/what we’re paying for

Hermine:

• Dedicated staff has finished the project to correct UCLA-contributed records that had old system (Voyager) numbers incorrectly coded as 035s with the (OCoLC) prefix (hooray!)

• Used Berkeley’s method (thanks, Adam!) to test out batch merging in the sandbox.

  • Can confirm that it does work really nicely on multiple different situations, including multiple records linked to the same NZ record.

  • Next step for UCLA will be to identify which of the 22K groups of dupes we want to merge. (Ignore anything linked to CZ?).

  • Also, annoyingly, the duplicate title analysis report won’t indicate “preferred” or “merge” for any set of records where at least one record belongs to the NZ--so that has to be indicated manually so the merge & combine job will work.

Adam:

• Re: Merge & combine, decided not to index the 904 right now because if inconsistency

• Having meeting with ExL about indexing next Friday to discuss issues searching 880 fields

TJ:

• Are campuses okay with turning on the URI enrichment in WDU? Will share draft document with folks

All:

• If campus still have multimatches, can send Gem a file of the OCLC numbers to run through Merge & Combine, should ignore CZ records

CJK indexing update

Ready to move forward with the HK TSVCC setting into production, just waiting for ops team to meet with ExL on Monday

UCI also noticed title searching issues with configuration of Customer Parameter ‘cjk_segmentation’. Considering changing from default setting “OneGramWithBasis” to “Basis”

• Alma August release has five CZ “Managed by Community” collections where portfolios can be deleted by everyone

• Interest in session answering questions on how campuses decide when or why to use CZ

Limited Search Functionality in Alma and Analytics

• EL has been asked repeatedly to index all MARC fields. There is a limit on the number of local parameters we can set up, and there is a need to identify data that is not indexed (example, content type)

• Alma Idea Exchange: Add 880 field to the Bibliographic Details dimension table in Analytics

Sharing session idea - fun with the CZ? (Maybe in conjunction with e-res?)
